Day 1


Bishkek - South shore of Issyk-Kul


Distance: about 304 km / ~6 hours with stops


Departure from Bishkek (7:00-8:00)


Explore the Skazka Canyon, known for its unique red clay formations sculpted by wind and water over time. As you walk through the canyon, you'll encounter natural sculptures resembling castles, animals, and other imaginative shapes.

Dinner & Overnight Stay

Settle in for the night at a guesthouse or yurt camp on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul.

Day 2

Bokonbayevo → Berkut Show → Jeti-Ögüz → Karakol


Distance: about 400 km / ~3 hours

Witness a traditional eagle hunting demonstration, where trained golden eagles showcase their hunting skills, reflecting a centuries-old nomadic tradition.

Explore Jeti-Ögüz Gorge

Visit the Jeti-Ögüz Gorge, famous for its striking red sandstone formations known as the "Seven Bulls" and the "Broken Heart" rock. The area offers opportunities for light hiking, photography, and enjoying the natural scenery. Optional activities include visiting the nearby hot springs or taking a short horse ride.


Dinner & Overnight Stay in Karakol

Arrive in Karakol, a town rich in history and culture. Enjoy dinner and rest for the night at a hotel or guesthouse.

Karakol → Cholpon-Ata Petroglyphs → Bishkek


Distance: 450 km / ~7 hours

Explore Karakol's notable sites, such as the Dungan Mosque and the Russian Orthodox Church, and visit the local market to experience the town's cultural diversity.

Visit Cholpon-Ata Petroglyphs

Stop at the open-air museum in Cholpon-Ata to view ancient petroglyphs dating back to the 2nd millennium BC. The site features over 5,000 rock carvings depicting animals, hunting scenes, and symbolic figures.


Return to Bishkek

Conclude your journey with a 4-hour drive (approximately 261 km) back to Bishkek, reflecting on the diverse experiences of Kyrgyzstan's landscapes and cultures.
